  • Over 700 retail stores; 156 fashion stores, 190 restaurants, 110 services.
  • Almost 80% of businesses are small, non-leading retailers  (Centre for the Study of Commercial Activity, 2018).
  • Shoppers can enjoy a range of shopping choices, with four malls – including the CF Toronto Eaton Centre, Atrium on Bay, College Park and 10 Dundas East – and a multitude of unique and boutique streetfront retail.
  • The CF Toronto Eaton Centre, the busiest shopping mall in North America, is located right in the heart of Downtown Yonge, boasting over 50 million visitors annually. It is also one of the top malls in Canada by sales per square foot and the 2nd largest in Canada by square footage (Retail Council of Canada, 2017).

Traffic Counts

Our pedestrian and vehicle counters are located at five key intersections (Queen, Shuter, Gerrard, College/Carlton, Dundas). The 24/7 counting system monitors traffic flows of people and motor vehicles, travelling northbound and southbound on Yonge Street.
